This document provides brief, step by step guidelines on
how to install device drivers under Windows2000.
Usually you will need to manually install device drivers if
Windows2000 either cannot detect your hardware properly, or if
the required device drivers are not (properly) installed
on the system.
When working with Windows2000 drivers, it's recommended that
you are logged in as Administrator, or that your user account
is in the Administrators group or has Administrator
privileges.
To update or install a device driver, do the following:
- Select Control Panel from the Start Menu.
- Doubleclick Computer Management.
- Now select Device Manager.
On the right you will see a list with the your computers
hardware.
- Doubleclick the device for which you want to install or
update the drivers.
- From the Driver tab, click the Update Driver button. Now the
Update Driver Wizard will be opened to guide you through the
rest of the driver update or installation.
- When asked for the source path, point to the drive which
contains this CD. Windows 2000 will automatically search
through all sub-folders and locate the correct driver for the
device.
