[Réglé] Ce fameux Xorg qu'on aime bien...

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,

Mon ancienneté de Linux (essentiellement Ubuntu) n'est que de 2 voir 3 mois, j'ai chercher sur Google pour résoudre les problèmes et posté sur Ubuntu-fr.org (tjrs pas de réponse), mais impossible de trouver les solutions.

2 PC (portable) ont des problèmes:

1er PC:
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo 1538
Turion 64 X2
Nvidia 7400GS
2Go RAM

Problèmes rencontrés:
-A l'aide de "top" dans le termial, j'ai pu m'apercevoir que les lags que j'avais provenais de Xorg qui utilisait parfois 100% des ressources (alors qu'en temps normal, c'est de 1 à 15...), et ce, que ce soit sous Firefox, ou même en traitement de texte.
-Il m'arrive d'avoir l'écran qui devienne tout noir (avec du bleu sur le côté gauche) et plus rarement un écran qui se remplit de traits blancs.

Problèmes rencontrés:
-Egalement sujet aux fameux écran qui se remplis de blancs, mais surtout pendant le démarrage (jusqu'à l'écran de login) et l'extinction du système, et apparition de lignes de pixels (extinction+démarrage) pendant une demi seconde
-Absence du splash screen

Voilà pour les problèmes recontrés, les deux PC fonctionnent sous Gutsy, et ont été réinstallés proprement plusieurs fois, sans que celà ne change quoi que ce soit.
J'espère que les infos que j'ai donné suffiront, et que vous pourrais faire quelque chose pour moi.

Sujet pointu que tu lances là. Et difficile de donner une réponse qui pourra te faire avancer efficacement.
A tout hasard j'essaye quand même de suggérer deux/trois choses, puisque ça touche clairement la gestion de la carte graphique et de xorg (en dernière version il me semble avec la gusty) :

- concernant les drivers, as-tu les même problèmes avec les drivers génériques libres, notamment pour le 1er portable en carte Nvidia. Bien sur, il n'y aurait pas l'accélération matérielle mais qu'en serait-il du fonctionnement ? Est-ce que ça supprime les lags, les bugs d'affichage, etc... pour être fixé sur les drivers quoi.
A savoir qu'il faut donc utiliser les drivers "nv" en lieu et place du "nvidia" propriétaire (et pas toujours très bien foutu selon les cartes et les config).

- d'autres part, et toujours concernant Nvidia (je ne connais hélas que les nvidia sous Linux et pas ATI), as-tu essayé une récupération/compilation/installation manuelle des drivers directement à partir du site de Nvidia plutôt que les drivers des dépots Ubuntu?
Pour partir de qqchose de vierge notamment... Ceci accompagné d'un simple dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg en console (si ça fonctionne sous Ubuntu) pour éviter tout paramétrage parasite des outils Nvidia.
Je ne fais d'ailleurs pas super confiance au programme "nvidia-settings" pour remplir un xorg.conf correctement. Je viens de paramétrer un bi-écran sur ma Debian et j'ai du mettre un peu les mains dans le fichier pour que ça fonctionne, c'était un peu laborieux.

- pour finir, il y a aussi des solutions alternatives à la conception d'un xorg.conf si celui-ci est mal conçu, comme booter avec un LiveCd récent d'un autre distribution (Knoppix par exemple) et récupérer le xorg.conf pour pouvoir le réutiliser ou le comparer avec ta Ubuntu.

Et je te recommande également le site "linux on laptops" pour trouver des infos sur les portables, par exemple les fujitsus => http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/fujitsu.html
Avec de la chance on peut y trouver des fichiers de config complets qqfois, ce qui évite des recherches longues et fastidieuses.

Pas mieux... en espérant que ça s'arrange.

Et si j'étais moins "Méga noob" en ligne de commande, j'aurais bien essayé
de te donner ce que j'ai sous Mandriva Spring 2007.1.
A moins que casa me dise quoi appeler & copier ici, sachant que j'utilise

@ AtOM: Pour y accéder, il suffit d'aller dans /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Sinon, j'en suis toujours à récupérer le Xorg d'une autre distribution, l'installation des drivers nvidia sous debian est un peu plus complexe que sous Ubuntu.

J'ai testé le dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg dans le terminal, mais c'est assez complexe, et j'ai peur de faire une erreur. (quoique, c'est pas si grave, je sais comment restaurer le backup...)

Après moults essais, ce sont les drivers nvidia qui font que Xorg devient fou...
J'ai installé Debian, le Xorg de base (avec les drivers nv) est identique que le Xorg de base d'Ubuntu (de toute façon, les deux OS avec les nv fonctionne au poil), par contre, tjrs pas réussi à installer les drivers nvidia sur Debian, pour voir si le Xorg est le même. L'install est pas aussi simple que sur Ubuntu...
M'enfin, je désespère pas, je vais également essayer d'installer de vieux drivers (nvidia-glx au lieu des nvidia-glx-new), voir les Beta tout récents.
Je vous tient au courant.

@AtOM: J'ai testé la partie qui traite de l'affichage de ton Xorg, tjrs même problème, même pire, j'ai du remettre le backup car il voulait rien savoir après un second redémarrage.

A moitié surpris, parce que si mes souvenirs sont exacts, Debian est plus éloigné de Redhat que Mandriva.
Ce doit être la raison du blocage à l'utilisation du Xorg de ma machine.

Problème réglé.
J'ai téléchargé le petit programme Envy (très pratique), et j'ai installé les drivers nvidia-glx 96.43.01, avec configuration automatique de Xorg, et tout à l'air de très bien marcher!
